Welcome! What’s up for Vocal Latitudes in Spring 2019…

Dave Flint Artistic Director, Link, News

The Spring 2019 session is going to be action-packed.
We will be singing some wonderful and eclectic repertoire, including  a beautiful piece by Ola Gjelo (great contemporary choral composer), along with jazz, gospel, renaissance and other genres.
We also have a number of special events planned in addition to our big concert on Saturday, May 11, 2019.

Linda Morrison Workshop. In March we will co-host a workshop featuring choral conductor, composer and songwriter Linda Morrison from Montreal.  The full day workshop on Saturday, March 16 will focus on Gaelic and gospel songs. There will be a concert performance of these songs and more on Sunday, March 17th. We are sure to have a fun and rewarding weekend of singing. More information will be available soon on this site regarding registration details and costs. Vocal Latitudes and UUphonia members will have first chance to register.

We will perform in the ProArts at Noon series at the Cathedral Church of the Redeemer on Wednesday, May 15, 2019. This venue is the best acoustic space for choirs in Calgary!

Vocal Latitudes has been invited to perform at the National Music Centre. Saturday, February 23 at 1pm.

There is an unconfirmed rumour that we may be singing with a well-known Canadian singer-songwriter at one of the folk clubs this spring.  Stay tuned – or better still – join us in January and get in on the fun.

I’m looking forward to seeing you all on January 8th for a great new session of Vocal Latitudes.
