Join Vocal Latitudes as we begin our 2025-2026 season! Vocal Latitudes is a non-auditioned world music choir, singing a wide variety of choral music in all genres. The music is fun, beautiful, and accessible, with a global component to each program including music in non-English languages. Our fall program Starlight and Moonshine features an exciting array of choral repertoire: Kate Rusby’s gorgeous Underneath the Stars, jazz standard Blue Moon, folk song The Parting Glass, famous German carol Stille Nacht and many more. The fall semester culminates in a concert performance on Sunday, December 14th at Parkdale United Church. The January to May 2026 program is entitled Nautical Tales: Songs of the Ancient Sea, singing entirely ocean-themed music from at home and overseas!
Register for a single semester or for the whole season at vocalatitudes.org/choir-member-registration. Music-reading skills are not required to join; if you can carry a tune that’s wonderful. Vocal Latitudes is directed by Krishan Power with pianist Faye White, and rehearses Tuesday evenings, 7:15-9:15pm at Calgary Unitarians (1703 1st St NW). Rehearsals are fun and casual while remaining productive, and we hope to see you at the try-out sessions on September 9th and 16th! New members please arrive at 7pm.
